Hi, our body tells so many things when it is not in good condition . we should be aware of the few common signs or signals so we can identify them at earlier stage. In this blog we will be seeing few as its well said that “PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE”
PALLOR
In simple language pallor means paleness. it has many causes most common being a low level of hemoglobin. hemoglobin is contained with in the red blood cells of our body and which is responsible oxygenation and nutrition of cells at microscopic level. when pallor develops it usually indicates the lack or loss of hemoglobin. it can be due to lack of proper food or ongoing loss such as piles, chronic alcohol abuse, hemoptysis ( vomiting of blood) etc.
along with the paleness person will have other symptoms like weakness, easy fatigue and breathlessness on doing normal to medium work or exercises.
WHERE TO LOOK FOR IT?
Now question arises where we should look for it. most easy way is look at hand and finger nail beds. if its pale that means pallor is there which suggest low hemoglobin level(usually). another location is look at your lower eyelids folds i.e. conjunctiva its paleness also indicates the pallor or anemia.
WHAT SHOULD WE DO?
If you notice paleness , most of the time its due to nutritional causes such lack of proper diet, inadequate diet leads to low hemoglobin level. Here are few food options that you can include in your diet.
- meat, poultry and fish
- Eggs
- Beans, peas, lentils, tofu
- Some vegetables such as spinach and beets
- Whole grains such as quinoa, whole oats and whole grain bread Nuts, seeds and some dried fruit like raisins and almonds.
Another cause for the paleness can be due to ongoing blood loss which can be due to piles, fissures or other sinister pathologies like cancers in old ages. and it should be evaluated by the expert for early and proper management.
